Olivia Grace Maria
Sunday Olivia was baptized!!! We had a wonderful day and Olivia did very well. She didn't like it when the priest took her from me to dip her in the baptismal font. She cried as loud as she could then started to lay back so he would let go of her. Luckily he kept a hold of her or else she would have ended up under water. When the priest handed her back to me she was still crying but when she heard the entire congregation applaud for her she stopped crying and started clapping!! The entire congregation started laughing!! It was very cute. As we were leaving the altar the priest (semi joking) wiped his brow and gave a loud "phew". Everyone started laughing again! All in all though everything went well. Here are some pictures. We didn't get very many good ones during the service because we couldn't use the flash and most of them came blurry. I have lots more to post about our weekend so check back often.
In our church all of the children are invited up to welcome Olivia and to place the sign of the cross on her forehead. Olivia took it all in stride and didn't mind them at all. There were a LOT of children but she didn't cry or try to bite once.
This is the first dip in the water that caused the intense screaming. Then she started to throw herself backward which is when the priest almost lost her. As a matter of fact my mother, who goes to church every morning saw Father David at services Monday morning and he told her that he thought he was going to lose her there for a minute. Everyone was teasing him at Monday morning mass about scaring Olivia and making her cry!! Good thing he has a sense of humor.

This is right after he handed her back to me. She was crying pretty hard!!! Then she stopped to applaud when everyone else did.
After the trauma of being submerged she has a few puffs and is smiling in no time.
How funny is this picture?!! The hat came with the dress and I had to have just one picture with it on her head. It cracks me up!! She only let me take a few pictures before ripping it off.
Olivia loved eating the frosting off her cake!!
