Olivia opening her very first Christmas present!
My two girls!! Maggie is 9 years old and she was my first little girl. She is very jealous of Olivia. She stood behind her almost the entire time she opened gifts. She kept looking under the tree for her gift because we we always had gifts for the dogs on Christmas morning but this year I forgot to wrap them. I felt terrible, she was so sad. I'll do better next year Maggie, I promise!!
"Can I see your American Girl Doll, please?"
My nephew Michael almost getting a smile out of her. Last time she saw him all she did was cry when he came near her so this was a big step."Hmmm? Who should I pick to help me open this tiny little present? How about you Uncle Steve, would you help me?"
(Olivia is wearing her Jade bracelet we bought her in Guatemala)
"Oh, you got it open! I knew you could do it! What do you think is inside this little box?"
"Am I seeing what I think I am seeing? Pearl earrings from Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mike, Wow! They are beautiful,I love them."
Aunt Paige asking if she can help her open her stocking.
Her raspberries make us laugh.
My family: My nephew Michael, my BIL Mike, his wife/my sister Debbie, their other son Matthew (in the back), next to him is my brother Steve. In front of Steve is my SIL/his wife, Lynn and in front of her is their son and my nephew Joshua. In the middle is my mother, and in front of her is my niece Madison next to her sister Morgan. Behind Morgan is my SIL Paige and her husband my brother to the left of her. To the right of Paige is Paige's Mom from New York and to the right of her is Bill, Olivia and Me.
Attempt number one to get all of the grandchildren together. We put Olivia in last but she wasn't happy about Michael holding her.
Attempt number 2, let's try Matthew. That didn't work either. That was it, we gave up. Once I took Olivia back from Matthew she just fussed and fussed and fussed at Matthew. She was just babbling away and apparently telling him off for even thinking that she would want him to hold her for even one second. It was hysterical.
She finally left Matthew alone and we were able to somewhat get a family photo in front of the tree.
Happy Birthday, Mom!!!
Her birthday is Christmas Day, so we always have cake and more gifts in the evening of Christmas Day. But I was busy with the scene in the next picture so I couldn't get any pictures her opening her gifts. My 5 year old niece Madison has been dying to feed Olivia. She is a real live baby doll to her. So once I changed her clothes and prepared a bottle Madi was able to feed her. She did a great job! What a peaceful end to a very excited and wonderful day! We hope everyone else had as wonderful a Christmas as we did!
