Ever since we found out last week that we were not yet in Family Court but should be entering this past Monday or Tuesday, we have been anxiously awaiting word that our case did indeed finally enter Family Court at the beginning of this week.
Unfortunately, according to the update we received yesterday, our case has NOT yet entered Family Court. According to our coordinator the attorney's office told her that all cases must now have the hand print and foot print of the child, attached to a legal document, and this must be presented to the PGN and a receipt obtained BEFORE cases can go to Family Court.
All week they have had stormy weather in Guatemala and the foster mother did not want to bring Olivia out (we are so grateful that she is taking such good care of Olivia for us). So, as of yesterday she had not yet made it to the attorney's office. She was supposed to have gone today for sure to have the prints taken even if the weather is still bad. The secretary at the attorney's office told our coordinator that definitely they will have the file ready to go to Family Court on Monday. We are praying that it does actually happen on Monday.
It seems as though things are really moving slowly in Guatemala. Maybe they are, or maybe it's just because we have had to give up control of everything and put it in the hands of people who are not as anxious to bring Olivia home as we are. Either way the waiting is excruciating and time seems to stand still.
Our coordinator reminded us that even though we are not in Family Court yet we have to remember that we are also waiting for Embassy Prior Approval (PA) which she says right now is 6-8 weeks. Our DNA was submitted to the Embassy for PA on May 23rd. She still thinks that by the time the PA is issued we will be coming out of Family Court. So it won't be that big a deal that we have not entered FC yet. I am sure it's not a big deal but, I can still pout if I want to. I know, you can't always get what you want, I get it...I get it.
As long as we bring Olivia home that's all that matters.

Olivia Talking
Thank you Shannon for the great idea of filming the DVD while it plays!! This will have to do until I get the proper program. The quality is not very good doing it this way but it's better than nothing.

The waiting is excruciating! It just stinks that no one wants these babies home as fast as we do. Work faster people! :)
