Can You Visit Her?
Once we tell people we can't get her for quite some time the next question we are asked is if we can visit her. The answer is yes. However, we cannot do so until the DNA comes back. To make sure that the birthmother is truly the birthmother and that the child was surrendered by the birthmother and not some other party DNA testing is required. They will have the birth mother come to the same place as the baby and they will take a picture of the birth mother holding the baby (we will get a copy of that picture for Olivia to have) they will take DNA samples from both of them and send them to a lab in New Jersey. The results take about 6 to 10 weeks. During this time our file will be in Family Court in Guatemala. Once the DNA is final and it comes back a match then we are able to visit her. We haven't decided if we are going to visit or not. If we do visit we will get to have her with us in the hotel for the entire time we are there. But when the trip is over it will be so hard to leave her behind so we are not sure we can handle visiting. I will be sending her gifts periodically and I have already sent a letter to the foster mother and to Olivia that my friend translated into Spanish for me. Right now we are anxiously awaitng the next set of pictures, and update on how she is doing.

Olivia Talking
Thank you Shannon for the great idea of filming the DVD while it plays!! This will have to do until I get the proper program. The quality is not very good doing it this way but it's better than nothing.
