Prayer Request!!

Here are a few random pictures of Olivia. We are heading to the beach with the entire family for the weekend so I hope to have a lot of pictures to share with you when we get back. In the meantime here is Olivia with her new Panda Bear chair that my nephew Matthew bought her. She loves it and wouldn't even let me finish blow drying her hair because she wanted to sit in it. Thank you Matt!!

This is a picture of me with Olivia and her classmate Bella who was adopted from China. They are good friends but Olivia was very jealous of Bella wanting to sit on my lap. Olivia tried to push and scratch her to get her off my lap. Once I convinced her that she too could sit on my lap along with Bella she brought a book over for us to read. She kept a close eye on her though as we read the story. It was very cute, especially because they were both in their 4th of July outfits. Olivia is doing so much better at school. She has learned to say no to her friends and walk away rather than aggressively get them out of her way. I am so proud of her, it's amazing what a little bit of language skills will do for a child.

Swimming with Aunt Debbie

Somebody has the giggles!! I think she was trying to keep herself awake by being very silly. I never did figure out what "that" was.

Olivia with Michael

Now for my prayer request.......I am asking for everyone to please pray with me. My nepehw Michael's cancer is back and he will undergo surgery next week to remove a section of his lung that the cancer has spread to. Hopefully he will not need chemo or radiation after the surgery, it just depends on the type of tumor it is. After he had the testicular tumor removed 6 months ago he did not need treatment, he has been going for CT scans and bloodwork on a regular basis so that they can catch any changes or spread of the cancer. That is how this mass was found. It is 1.7 cm which is double from 2 months ago. No they didn't find it 2 months ago because he has an abdominal CT and the radiologist who read it didn't look at anything other than the abdomen. The CT of the abdomen only captures a portion of the bottom of one lung. Luckily(so to speak) that was the portion that contained the tumor. This time the CT scan was read by a different radiologist who looked at the scan in more detail than the last radiologist. He noted the tumor and once the info went to the oncologist she pulled the prior scan and there it was and it has doubled in size. Shame on the other radiologist for not looking at the scan with the thought in his mind that this is a cancer patient being screened for a potential spread of the disease, had he not had tunnel vision the tumor would have been discovered on the last scan. We are just thankful that it was found this time. Michael who is only 24 years old will have a consult on Monday with a thoracic surgeon and he will undergo surgery Tuesday or Wednesday. Please pray that there will be a favorable outcome from the surgery and that chemo or radiation will not be necessary.

Thank you!!!

Olivia Talking

Thank you Shannon for the great idea of filming the DVD while it plays!! This will have to do until I get the proper program. The quality is not very good doing it this way but it's better than nothing.
