Update

Great News!!!! We have Olivia's new birth certificate. Although it still states her name as Linda Maria her two last names have been dropped and she officially has our last name!!!!!! When we re-adopt her here in the US, her first and middle names will change to Olivia Grace Maria and our last name. We are keeping the Maria because it is a part of her heritage and also because my confirmation name is Marie.

So what happens next????........The birth certificate is turned in to the US Embassy in Guatemala and an authorization slip is issued to perform a 2nd DNA test on Olivia. We should have this authorization by the end of the week. Once the sample is taken from Olivia it will be sent to the lab in NJ where they will compare the results to the first DNA test. This lab takes about 10 days to complete testing (our lab is one of the slowest). The results will be sent to the Embassy in Guatemala and as long as the results declare a match the Embassy will issue what is referred to as a Pink slip. This slip contains our Embassy appointment date and time. Once our Pink slip is issued we are free to travel and be united with Olivia forever. Bill and I will bring Olivia to this appointment and based on the completion of this appointment the Embassy will issue Olivia a Visa to immigrate to the US. Two days after the Embassy appointment her Visa will be ready for pick up........Then we are free to come home!!!!!!!!!

Please pray for a speedy DNA process, the sooner we get the results to the Embassy the sooner we will be with Olivia!!!
