Her Name

I was forever throwing out names to Bill whenever I heard one that I thought was a little different but not too trendy. He never liked any of the names I picked and I never liked any of the names he picked. As we were watching Bills favorite show Law and Order SVU, Bill said how about the name "Olivia". I really thought he was kidding because he likes Mariska Hargitay who plays Olivia on Law and Order so I figured he was joking around. After he assured me that he was serious I was so excited because I love the name Olivia. Finally we agreed. We had always agreed that her middle name would be Grace so that part was easy. We had also agreed that we would take one of her given names at birth and incorporate it into her name so that she would always have a part of her heritage. When we found out that her name was Linda Maria we chose to keep Maria. Her American name that we will re-adopt her with will be Olivia Grace Maria Carroll. When she comes home from Guatemala her passport will read Linda Maria Carroll and then somewhere down the line we will go thru a re-adoption and get her a new birth certificate with her new name on it. Another nice thing is that my confirmation name is Marie.
